Ghz vs L2 cache

currently i'm using core2duo 2.93
i want to upgrade core2Quad
my req : Heavy image editing (Photo shop / making Hi res-Hording) i'm confused which one is better q6600 2.4ghz 8mb L2 or 2.6ghz 4mbL2 im confuse low ghz high L2 or low L2 high gHz...
with one is better for me .... plz help me to find beeter one....

between same architecture, go with the cpu with higher clock speed because a 200 MHz difference is more significant than 4mb cache difference.
Cache is used to store bits of data that may be frequently required for a program. Data that's kept in the ram takes some time to access (latency) so there's cache, memory space on the cpu die itself that makes important bit available for quick access.

Go with 2.6.

you'll see video encode tests are faster on 2.66 GHz.
