I am a newbie here.

I have static IP from my ISP and I have an Asus router and 24-port Netgear switch. Currently, 1 server and 5 PCs connect to the switch.

I want to use the server to run NAS and webserver.

My question:
Do I set up the static IP in the Asus router or the Netgear 24-port switch?

I assume that once the static IP is set up either at router/switch level, I have to set the router/switch so that an incoming request will be forwarded to the server? Is this correct ?

The switch is completely transparent in your setup. If it even has a IP it is used to manage it.

IF your ISP will let you have a static address it goes into the router. Then you port forward to the server as you indicate.
