Possible to Trifire Two 7870 Tahiti with a 7950?

I noticed that the 7870 Tahiti has only one crossfire connector, unlike the 79xx series. According to other sites, the 7870 Tahiti is crossfire compatible with the 7950 and 7970. If I were to trifire, would sandwiching a 7950 between the 7870s work?

Any performance effects I need to be aware of, asides from the 3GB limited to 2GB for all cards due to the 7870?

Thanks in advance for my curiosity.

I believe you can only crossfire the 7870 Tahiti with 1 other card. That said, the 7870 Tahiti will only crossfire with another Tahiti card (7870XT, 7870LE, 7950, 7970) and will not crossfire with a standard 7870.

The link that bignastyid posted is outdated/incorrect when it comes to these cards.
