Recording from Multiple USB webcams

I am trying to record a scientific experiment using two USB webcams connected to one computer. I have tried using ispycam and ActiveWebcam softwares for this purpose but I am running into some weird problems.

I need to make 6min. recordings and the software GUI though indicates a full 6min recording the acutal video files turns out to be always 2-10 seconds shorter. For my experiments timing is everything and cannot use videos with intrinsic variability.

Any help helping me resolve this problem will be great.

Thanks Brett for your comment. I am currently using your idea of using two independent softwares - problem is the that I would like to avoid the lag between initiating a video recordings while I switch between two softwares! Ideally I would like to press one button and get both webcams to start/stop recording!

Hi Anand :)

I am not sure thats technically possible.... you could email Logitech and ask if any of their HD Webcams would do this...
