Okay so I have a 800 dollar limit, for everything it shipping and all, I might be able to squeeze an extra 100$ because I'm selling my Xbox, I wanna know If I should build or Buy? Like I want a computer that can run BF3 on High At 60fps, And I found some computers online that fit my price-range and there good gpu one has a 7770, But with 800 dollar I need a OS, and everything for a computer to run, I don't need a monitor or a mouse and keyboard, my xbox is going to be paying for those, and keep in mind I'm only 14, and I live in Canada so newegg.com won't help only .ca websites, can someone help me pick parts for a computer and put an OS in the build. And I don't want to pirate Windows.

Best thing about a prebuilt computer is there will likely be some kind of warranty, or one will be offered for a few dollars more. The worst thing, (depending on who you talk to) is many of these machines are lacking in expandability. The typical anemic power supplies are not geared toward a video card upgrade for instance, and usually expansion slots are limited.

Best thing about build your own is you have complete control of your upgrade path. You will never be able to build a machine cheaper than a pre-built, these companies buy CPU's by the 1000's and generally can get the best wholesale prices available for parts. They also cut corners like I mentioned above to sustain profitability. They want you to buy a new PC from them every 3 years, so they limit expansion possibilities.

Since your considering building, I am going to assume you are mechanically inclined or have some knowledge of PC hardware. If you are a tinkerer. then I do recommend you build your own. Tom's has plenty of resources to assist, and troubleshooting tips from the masters.

On the other hand, Unless you've messed around inside a computer case it may not be the best choice for you. If you do choose this route, I would go with a boutique builder that is known for building custom machines, such as Cyberpower. They will have plenty of configurations to suit your needs and budget.
