Is this a good idea?

I want to upgrade my system, but I don't know if what I've decided on is a good idea. I'm in the sub-$200 range and this is what I've chosen.
Sapphire Radeon 7850 - 1GB
and since I'd need a new PSU to use it, an Apevia 500w ATX PSU.
My current system is 4GB RAM with an AMD A8 5500 with now graphics card and a 300w PSU. Is this the best choice for me? I do plan to upgrade CPU with the AMD Kaveri when it is released later this year.

I plan to sell the Tomb Raider code that comes with the card, but I will keep the Bioshock Infinite, along with doing all of the rebates available. This is just to lower the overall price.

Whether you choose to upgrade your GPU is up to you. You have to weigh the need to play that game at a higher resolution or at all.

Your choice of PSU's though is poor. Apevia is a known piece of junk.
Get a Seasonic, XFX, Antec, PC Power and Cooling, Corsair, to nave a few good ones.

The card yes, the psu, no, apevia psus are garbage, get a proper one if you'll buy a new psu, buy it from brands flike seasonic, xfx, corsair, antec, pc power and cooling, enermax, fsp, among other quality ones.
A quality 450W psu will do, like the antec vp-450 plus 7850 if you're short in cash : http://pcpartpicker.com/p/K7Pm

If you need a psu with more juice this one is of quality(seasonic unit) : http://pcpartpicker.com/part/xfx-power-supply-p1550sxxb9
