Whenever I plug in my gamepad into my computer, it shuts off...
This is a 4 computer (Asus k501j) running vista and before it could support the usb perfectly.
But recently after I plugged it in it would shut down after 10 minutes, and then 5 minutes, and now it shuts down immediatly.
I've tried another gamepad and the computer shutdown too.
The drivers are all updated.. Please help

could be two issues...the usb chipset on the mb is going bad and cant output the load for the usb devices now..easy fix is pick up a usb pci card to replace the ports on your mb that are going bad. or you already have to many devices on your usb ports and not using a usb powered hub to help the mb.

I am not using a usb powered hub but I am only using the wireless mouse usb thing. so I assume the problem is in the usb chipset on the motherboard.

Is it possible to replace the usb chipset on a laptop, and if so, is it possible on my specific laptop?
http://www.asus.com/Notebooks_Ultrabooks/K50IJ/

And thanks a lot for helping

Yes, just the gamepads (I tried 2)
I read that the problem may be related to the power suply, but i have no idea what to do

(UPDATE)
Recently I plugged in the controller on a ps3 and after abaut 5 minuts of being plugged in a massage showed up saying: 'maximum amount of power by the usb' or something like that...
I am no expert so I dont know what the problem is and what is causing the PC to shutdown.
Does anybody have an awser or a solution?
