I've got an ASUS P8Z68-V LX and am looking to get an EVGA geforce gtx 680. I believe the asus has pci 2.0 and the gtx requires pci 3.0.

Will i have any issues with this video card on the asus?

No. It's backwards compatible. A GTX 680 won't even max out the bandwidth capabilities of a PCIe 2.0 slot. Install your graphics card and have fun! :D

No. PCI-E slots work backwards, so PCI-E 3.0 works on PCI-E 2.0. PCI-E 3.0 however offers better bandwidth, but not many GPUs fully utilize the bandwidth that PCI-E 2.0 offer.

"With real-world gameplay performance advantages under 10% it doesn't change the actual gameplay experience. It in no way allows us to improve in-game quality settings nor does it give us any advantages over the PCIe 2.0 system. As we've stated previously in this evaluation, the technical performance advantages are "benchmarkable" but not relating to the gameplay experience"

You might experience a bit lower performance, than if you used PCI-E 3.0, but as the review states, then it will not affect you in any major way. However in the future we might see greater performance gaps, as GPUs Progress performance wise.
