Intel HD Graphics 4000

I have a Samsung Series 5 i7 with intel HD Graphics 4000. I noticed that i only have 32 bit color depth option. I need the 16bit color depth in some of my applications like WORD. How can i set this to 16bit, or is there a different driver for this?

under the intel control pannel for the video card. it have option for size and color depth. most time people right click and change there display setting from the desk top.

Why might you need less color depth? Word doesn't care that i can tell from 15 years of using it.

I need the 16 bit color depth because it's much faster to refresh/view WORD drawings using 16 bit than 32 bit. In my previous laptops, I use 16 bit color depth when I use WORD, then I use 32 bit color depth when I use Photoshop and others.

Is it windows 8? If so see below and scroll down a little and try setting the compatability mode for word.exe.

Then again, if you recently got a new system it should do everything faster and may not need to do it the old way.
