Msi gtx 650 in intel dx58so mobo problem !!

I just bought the msi gtx 650 1 gb video card and when i put it in my mobo and start the pc, there is no video signal through the dvi port. When i took it to the service centre, they put it in a newer mobo and the video card worked. What shall i do now ? By the way, i have i7 920 @ 2.66 mhz, intel dx58s0 mobo, 3 gb ddr3 ram, acer al 1716 17" analog monitor.

The psu is zebronics realwatts pro 600 w. And yes, i did plug in the 6 pin plug. I am using the dvi to vga connector to connect my monitor. Since my monitor is an old one, no dvi or hdmi port in it.

I have not upated my mobo bios ever since i bought it back in april 2009. I am too scared to do that since i have read lots of mobos become dead after a failed bios upate. Could u please suggest the safest method to update my x58so's bios ?

Ok i will do that right after i manage to get a backup video card. (i have no vga port in my mobo). But also do tell me do i have to update the video card's bios too after that and how to do that ?

Well, i got hold of an asus gt 210 from my friend and updated my mobo bios successfully. But i had already submitted the video card to the msi service centre here in kolkata and they simply rma'ed it. Yesterdy i got a call from an msi techniccian from Delhi who said the video card is ok ! i told him to send the card back. it will take 7 more days to come back to kolkata. By the way, this is my video card :

I did that pcie thing..and no my pcie port is ok as i ran the gt 210 from it. But now from my video card's link page, in the download section there is a bios to download ! which states that if my video card has hybrid bios, i need to update the bios to solve motherboard compatibility. My God what more i have to do to get my video working ?!?

Well the video card came back after 12 days and i updated the vbios too. But now when i start my pc with it, i get 4 beeps (2 beeps, pause 2 beeps more). I am absolutely out of ideas now. Are the 600 series incompatible with this intel dx58so mobo ? Can u suggest some comparable video cards that are sure to work with this mobo ?
