My Computer reads 60gb's used, only 25gb's are used?

I have an intel 330m 120gb SSD. It's my boot drive and I have 1-2 games on it normally. Recently i noticed that I had used 80% of the space on it, so I took off all my games and what i consider non-essential apps. Now it says that 60.4gb are free of 111gb. However if i go into the drive, select all the files/folders in C:/ and check the properties, it says 25gb disk space used (which seems alot more accurate). Any ideas whats going on? this is my first SSD, I'm not hugely familial with them. Thanks.

When you go into drive select all files and see properties you see 25GB used because......
Theres some hidden files that you cannot see or select !
To view thwm you have to go control panel and then folder option than view - and than select show hidden files folder. Now go to drive again and you will see some semi visible files and some files that were not visible before. This is because windows hide system files and also some files can get installed as hidden. :)

It is probably very normal as your operating system has a lot of hidden files and folders taking up the room you see "missing". I recommend downloading a program called CCleaner http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner and run it's analysis and clean up the garbage it collects.

Hi, thanks for your reply, I already had the hidden files 'unhidden' however.

Hi, thanks for your answer, I do have a 1tb hdd for all my other files, and I have run a disk clean up on the ssd so there are no 'junk' files. Also I have hidden files enabled as I replyed to the other answer refering to hidden files. They where all selected in the mentioned 25gbs. Again, Thanks for your answer!

Even though you may have hidden files viewable, many operating systems (in this case, I assume Windows) there are files and folders that are system reserved and not viewable with the built in file explorer, such as System Restore points. Also, Windows likes to stockpile backups from doing online updates as well. You should run disk cleanup and select the "Clean up System Files" option as well if you haven't. It may clear up some of those space hogging files as well.

I do a disk clean up every few days and my restore points are saved on my HDD not my SSD.
