Hi,

January this year i bought my first "gaming pc", am also a big music enthousiast.

i run:

Intel i7-3770k 3.5GHz (OC to 4.2GHz)
XFX Radeon HD7950 Black Edition Double D (OC to 1000MHz)
ASRock z77 extreme 4
Corsair Vengeance 16GB 1600MHz
Spire X2 6011
Scythe Mugen 3 PC Gamer Version
Seasonic M12II-520 Bronze 520 Watt, 20+24 Pins

I am looking to upgrade my psu to a Xilence RedWing Gaming Edition 800 Watt, 20+24 Pins

I never get gpu temperatures above 60 degrees Celsius or cpu temps above 34 degrees Celsius even loading it to max on games like Skyrim, Farcry 3, Assasins Creed 3 or Diablo 3.

now here are my 3 questions:

1. am I able to run a second XFX R7950 Black Edition DD in crossfire with my current card? I want to know because i can not find the Crossfire connector. and is it possible with the psu i have now/the psu i will be getting?

2. is the psu i am looking at a smart buy? if not do any of you have better suggestions?

3. is it better to get a dedicated sound card instead of a second gpu? or can i run both of them on my motherboard?

if i could get an answer to at least one of these questions you would help me a lot.

Sincerely,

Gecko

Don't get that PSU, it's got no assurance over quality. Wattage isn't the only that matters when it comes to PSUs.

Answers for your questions:
1. Yeah, as long as it's another 7950, you can go ahead and Crossfire those bad boys
2. No. get something from Seasonic, Antec, Corsair that's atleast 80+ Bronze certified. Don't skimp in PSUs espeically in high-end rig such as yours
3. Do you do sound editing or anything like that? If not, and the primary function of your rig is for gaming, the on board sound card would do you well.

1) yes you can crossfire these, the card should have included a crossfire bridge that fits on the top edge of both cards.

2) The larger power supple would make me more comfortable running two cards esp with overclocking, while you don't need 800 I still appreciate the extra headroom. I would suggest a different brand, Corsair, FSP, PCPower&Colling, Seasonic.

3) If you're just listenening to music you'll probaby be fine with the on-board audio and decent software player. Unless you are making music, or one of the people who insist they can tell the difference between lossless and high-bitrate copy, the dedicated sounds card would be a bit of a waste.

750W (or greater) power supply with four 75W 6-pin PCI Express power connectors recommended for AMD CrossFire™ technology

1 & 2. The X-Fire connector should be in your MoBo box. You need a quality 750 watter to X-Fire such as the TX750 from Corsair or XFX Core Edition..... if overclocking GPUs and CPU, Id use an 850 watter .... Corsair HX series or SeaSonic X series, XFX Pro Edition

3. On board sound is just fine

If your mobo has additional PCI-e expansion slots, you can. I have to discourage you from getting that sound card, but if you want to go with it, go.

Hmmm. Here's one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371052
