All Games Keep Crashing

Hello all, recently every game i seem to play keep's on crashing or blue screening on me.

It's only been happening for around a month and my pc is around 6 months old. before it has been working fine i have been playing games for up to 5 hours at a time, Then i stopped playing some games for around 2 months then just started again a month ago and EVERY game i seem to play crashes after around 1-5 minutes.

Keep getting the message: ''soandso.exe has encounted a problem and needs to close'' message, and other times i just get straight blue screens.

Since it started i did a clean install of windows 7 re-installed all drivers including ones for my graphics card + direct x and it is still happening so anyone got any ideas on what's causing it and how to fix it?

Here are my spec's:

CPU: i7 3770
GPU: Asus GTX 670 2GB
RAM: 8GB Kingston 1600mhz
MB: Asus p8z77v-LX
PSU: Corsair TX 650W PSU
COOLER: Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro

and my cpu temp maxes at around 67 degrees while a game is loaded.

You may have a defective bios chip or a corrupt bios file. Try updating the motherboards bios to the next available file and see if that helps , if not you may have a defective bios chip and you do want to try all other options because a defective bios chip means you have to sent the motherboard into the manufacturer for them to replace it.

@Jack, it was just a generalization as it happens on all my games. borderlands2.exe, farcry3.exe, tombraider.exe.

@inzone, I actually don't know how to update a motherboards bios, Could you link me to any tutorials on the process and the relevant bios files for my motherboard please?

If you have the motherboards owners manual then instructions are in there. You can visit the web page of the brand and model of the motherboard that you have and download the bios file and a PDF of the owners manual. Updating the bios file is actually very easy but at the same time you do have to be very careful because you can brick your board if your not careful.
Fortunatly you have an Asus motherboard and they have several ways of updating the bios.

Read through the guides a few times to get a good feel on what it involves to update the bios file. One thing to remember is that when doing a bios update in the bios (best way) it's not like your in Windows and things are done like they are when in the bios.
Asus has a Windows application to do a bios file update and it's a lot easier then doing it in the bios. I have tried it and it does work ok , although I prefer to do it in the bios. If you have the motherboard cd then the Asus bios file Windows update application will be on it.
