I currently have a GIGABYTE Ghz Edition 7970 3gb in my system, and I want to overclock because I have 4 case fans that individually have 90+ CFM, so I want to overclock my graphics card, now, when i use the AMD VISION Engine Control Center, I overclock the card, but when I play games when its clocked at that, the game crashes, giving the display driver recovered error.

Clock: 1100 Mhz
Mem Clock: 1500 Mhz

What should I do?

how your overclockign it is in the wrong procedure. How it should be done for saftey is

1. download a benchmark or stress tester, Unigine 4.0 or Furmark are common examples
2. Move clocks up a bit, bench for cycles on above programs, be sure to note temperatures
3. if it passes, raise clocks even more
4. repeat 2
5. If program crashes or computer BSOD, then it is at its voltage limit. Increase the voltage slightly
6. repeat 2
7. repeat 3-6 till you reach the temperature max you want.

never manually boost clocks without testing them first, thats how one can kill their card as they did not know their limit.
