'd really like to beef up my GPU performance. Am having a reference single 670 2gb plugged up to a 620w seasonic psu and im not sure if the wattage is enough for sli.

I'm new to sli so i dont really know what to do in terms of setting up SLI and installing a second gtx-670

What PSU would be best for the sli cards?

I also checked my mobo on the manufacturer's . It apparently supports crossfire but im not sure about SLI as it did not mention it.

I'm also not sure if my casing is able to fit two GTX-670's inside.

What's the best brand of GTX-670s by the way?

Thanks in advance!

My specs are currently

Casing: Cooler Master CM 690 II

Core i7 870 CPU w Hyper 212 evo+ GT
Leadtek reference GTX 670 card
Seasonic 600w PSU
MSI P-55A G-55A mobo
Crucial M4 SSD
2 120mm inlet and exhaust fans
1 20mm side exhaust fan
12gb ram(DDR3)
2WD HDDs comprising of one 1TB and 1 500g

More about : sli gtx 670 urgent advice needed

It specifically says that it supports CF so I don't think you can SLI with that board. eVGA, Asus, MSI, Zotac

Whar resolution is your monitor because 1 GTX 670 is enough for 1080p and the CPU that you have.

I'd recommend at a minimum 750 watts. GTX 670's sip power but once you start plugging in a lot of components and if you overclock, it'll consume your power. Check out the Corsair HX850 psu....it'll give you plenty of power and enough amps on a single rail to deliver the performance you'll need to keep your system running for a while with a little over head to spare. Most would agree with me, but choose wisely sir. Good luck in your decision!

Also, check out this post from guru3d (sorry Tom!!!) for some great additional info on what you should expect with a GTX 670 sli setup and the power consumption. http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/geforce_gtx_670_2_...

Your motherboard definitely does not support SLI. You need another motherboard that specifically states that it is "Nvidia SLI Certified". MSI has other P55 motherboards that do support SLI, like the GD-65 and GD-80 (which I have).

You also need a new PSU, as has been mentioned.

So you asked this question a month ago.

And despite a few special people going off about. titan and bad PSU advice. Got to here eventually.

I see some flickering on skyrim and the card doesnt really seem to cope with skyrim ultra at all, as well as sims 3. It just seems to have low fps.

Can a reference 2gb card run skyrim at ultra?

And were immediately told the problem was NOT the GPU. You are at low resolution. on lower end games GPU wise. You probably have a mod conflict in skyrim or something.

I am not sure why you are copy pasting the same question, without including any info on the "problem" again when you already know SLI will do nothing for you. You can spend the money but it will probably just make it worse. You'd be better off fixing the problem

Seems like you could do that if you think the Asus card will be better in the interim than the current 670.

And your PSU should be totally fine. 670s pull 170W at full load, and it's a seasonic. If it's 600W on the 12V. You'll probate pull 500W at most.

SLI won't help then. Check gpu usage with gpuz while in game, CPU usage, temps, etc. something is wrong with your system
