So, basically i really don't know much about cpus, i want to upgrade from my dual core to a quad core, but i dont know much about the sockets and compatibility, after downloading cpu-z it says my "packacke" is Socket FM2 (904) and the cpu i want to says it has a Socket AM3, so im guessing theres no chance of installing the new cpu on my current computer? there the same brand, but like i said i dont know much about cpus. Thanks, if you need any more info just let me know!

Socket FM2 is what's used for AMD's Trinity processors whereas AM3+ is used for AMD's FX series CPUs. If you wanted to use an FX CPU you'll need to get an AM3+ motherboard. Otherwise the fastest processor you can get for your FM2 motherboard is the AMD A10-5800K Trinity 3.8GHz (4.2GHz Turbo) Socket FM2 100W Quad-Core Desktop APU (Link: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113280 )

Then you can upgrade to an A8 or A10 (probably should go for A10). I think the choices are A10-5700, A10-5800 and A10-5800K (the "K" denotes unlocked multiplier which means it's easier to overclock). A10s are quad core CPUs.
