OK so i game on windows 7 i just built a new PC i have a option to get windows 8 on a gamers point of view is it wroth getting or should i just stick with windows 7 by the way i don't have a touch screen monitor thanks

No.

Stick to windows 7. You won't notice a significant difference if any. Only get Windows 8 if you need a new copy/license for a PC.

Also if you get Windows 8 one day, get start 8, it will basically make Windows 8 just like Windows 7 GUI wise.

There's nothing incredibly wrong with Win8, I've tried it on another PC and it runs fine, just that it's harder to navigate a couple things because I haven't used it long enough but that could be fix with 3rd party software (as far as I know). For gaming, so far I've only seen one game not able to run on Win8 (don't quite remember the title but this was when it was just release) so I'm not so sure whether all games are compatible straight away, but I'm pretty sure developers and manufacturers are adding patch and releasing better drivers for it.

well this is a new OEM CD with one product key i can pick win 7 for 92 bucks or win 8 for 95 bucks off amazon i just don't know if 3 dollars will be a big change both are 64 bit

Classic Shell is free I think too.

Anyway I've had a better overall experience with Windows 8 than 7, so it's up to you really. I'd say go with 8, but everyone has their own personal opinion on this which one, so you will have to make the final decision. I've been running the day it was released with zero issues.
