looking for a pc under 500 that will play battlefield 3 on recommended settings

That will absolutely NOT play BF3 AT ALL. That GPU is less powerful than the low end chip in my 4 year old laptop, and I get 25 FPS MAX in that game, usually below 20, on the lowest graphics settings at 1024x600 screen resolution.

Does it have to be prebuilt? Building your own is pretty easy. Someone who is better with prices than I am will probably build a parts list for you.

that sounds awesome if anyone can do that, im on a budget but i can stretch to 600 if neccesary.

could i replace the cpu with the one DiaSin recommended? And also why would a dual core cpu with less Ghz be more costly than his quad core?
