Hai everyone, I'm wondering what's better for video editing & why.
Considering a GTX 660 3GB SC, and a HD 7870 tahiti AX (powercolor).
Thanks : -)

I will be using these: Adobe After Effects CS6, VDub, Sony Vegas Pro 12.0.

Look in the documentation for the programs you're using, and find out what brand of video card you need to enable hardware acceleration. Chances are they'll work much better with one brand than the other, and even with a particular card. From what I've read, it seems that Nvidia has the advantage here. It's likely that the same card isn't best for all your applications, so you'll have to decide which one is most important to accelerate.

Usually nvidia cards are better. However the 7870 tahiti is much stronger in raw performance. If you are not gaming though, I would go with the nvidia card. Your cpu matters more with this kind of stuff.

Yup I will be playing mostly bf3 and LoL but I know the AX7870 will be better for gaming, but for the CPU I think I'll go with a 3570k or maybe even a 2600k.

All 3 use OpenCL and After Effects also uses Cuda.

So to be honest a GTX 570 or 580 will be your best bet.
