Realtek Drivers Install Failure (After Previously Working)

Ok, so I have an M5A97 LE R2.0 motherboard and whenever I try to install the "Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller" it always says "Device driver software was not successfully installed." I have used this to play many online games in the past and ive been forced to play them on my Mac for the past few days. I contacted the manufacturer, but you know their stupid tech support wait times. All solutions tell me to "go online and look for the latest driver" when I obviously can't do that. Unless they will transfer somehow from a Mac and over to install correctly, i have no idea what to do. Any help is appreciated.

Try to uninstall the network controller in device manager and reboot. If that doesn't help: there are really no additional informations about the cause of the fail?

Nope. All it says to me is "Device driver software was not successfully installed," and nothing else. I'll try what you suggested and repost.
