Beginner question..........
New MSI 970A-G46 mainboard.
There is a big 24-pin power connector on the side of the board, and the 8-pin connector near the cpu.
power supply has a 20-pin out that will fit in the 24-pin slot on the board.
Also a pair of 4-pin outs from the PS that would fit into the 8-pin slot on the MB.

My question is do I use them both, just the 8-pin, what??

It's a Kingwin ABT-650MM Maximum Series. 650 watts, new.
Using both connectors, the machine boots to a "CPU or memory has changed..." and a prompt to enter the bios (everything's new, first boot).
Display works (DVI, from a Galaxy 1 Gig PCIE card.
But doesn't seem to recognize a (USB) keyboard to get into the BIOs....

An old style round keyboard connector didn't work either.

The PSU has a 20 + 4 pin main power connector. Did you plug all 24 pins(20 +4) in the main power? Try pulling the CMOS battery, looks like a watch battery on the motherboard, then put it back in after a minute of it being out. See if that lets you get into the bios albeit you will likely need a PS2 keyboard not a USB one.
