I have been having this problem for a while. I've tried everything under the sun.
Basically, I used to use Skype for screen sharing and required Stereo Mix to play the sounds from my computer to the other person over Skype.
I used to be able to switch between Microphone & Stereo Mix, but recently I have been having trouble. I can no longer enable my microphone, which is built in. I can't change ANY settings and I can't update the drivers, since it says the driver is up to date.
I've tried re-installing the drivers numerous times, I've tested it on other accounts. Used plug-in microphones. The works. Nothing seems to give.
And just recently, for some reason Stereo Mix is no longer picking up sound. It worked fine just a few days ago, but all of a sudden just refuses to play anything. I can hear my music fine, but Stereo Mix is not transmitting.
