Can anyone help, i am looking for a motherboard that is the same size as the MSI 760GM-P23 but capable of powering a 125W CPU?

Thanks in advance.

Solution

If you want to OC the CPU you will need a CPU model with the K suffix that indicates that it has an unlocked multiplier.

I've already mentioned the BX80637I53570K - Intel Core i5 3570K in my post above.

There is also the CM8063701211700 - Intel Core i7 3770K for £269.99 Inc VAT. So you have to decide if you want to spend the extra £90.05 for a CPU with Hyper-Threading and 100 MHz more clock speed.
Check the CPU model that you intend to use and the motherboard BIOS version number that is required to support it:

Does the MSI 760G-P43 (FX) support intel CPU's? because im on AMD at the moment and was thinking about gettin an Intel CPU. My budget for MB and CPU would be around £300 would extend my budget if i had to.

This is your first mention of switching to an Intel processor and motherboard.

All of the motherboards in the list, that I provided, are AMD Socket AM3+ only so they do not support any Intel processors.

Which Intel processor are you considering? What purposes are you using this system for (e.g. gaming, video processing, web surfing, office productivity apps, ..., etc.)?

Any plans for overclocking the CPU?

Initial suggestion:

Gigabyte GA-Z77MX-D3H for £104.12 Inc VAT

Intel Core i5 3570K for £179.94 Inc VAT

You'll also need some DDR3 Dual Channel 1.5 Volt memory if you don't currently have any.

CML8GX3M2A1866C9R - 8GB (2x4GB) Corsair DDR3 Vengeance Red Low Profile, PC3-14900 (1866), Non-ECC, CAS 9-10-9-27, XMP, 1.5V for £60.67 Inc VAT
