I'm french, hope I'll make myself clear enough ! :pt1cable:

I have both, Windows XP and Windows 8 (dual boot) installed on my computer. I have 2 hard drives + 1 (500GB) external drive (I). Fisrt HD has three partitions (C,F.G), the second one has got three also (D,E,H). Windows 8 is on partition C, Windows XP on partition D.

After installing Windows 8, all 7 partitions are being recognised and everything is going absolutely fine. After 3 or 4 days, while using the computer, hard drive number 2 (D,E, F) completely disappears. Need to reboot the system to get them back.

I tried to reinstall Windows 8, the problem is the same, after a couple of days, I keep losing all three partitions and need to reboot the computer. After rebooting, everything is stable until they just disappears again.

When using Windows XP, everything is there and I’m not losing anything? Could it be a bug in Win 8 ?

Thanks Dodger !

My system is French, it doesn’t respond to 'Disk Management' in the start screen. ;)

But still, I managed to verify the disk management section as they disappeared again from the explorer. They’re not showing in disk management either.

Some of the programs are installed in a program files folder on partition E. Naturally, when partition D, E and H disappears, the programs aren’t responding anymore. A simple reboot and everything is back to normal for a while. Sometimes, for a day or two. Sometimes, for a couple of hours. I posted this issue almost hoping someone will respond saying they’re having the same problem. As far as I’m concern, Windows 8 is having problems, XP is doing fine on my system.

After many tests and verification, one of my two internal HD seems to be corrupted. I took it out of my computer and everything works fine since.

Thanks everyone !
