I have an amd buldozer fx 8150 eight core processor that is liquid cooled by a bigwater 760 plus and it overheats whenever i play gaames to the point of emergancy shut down. when i chaecked the case after this shutdown the liquid in the bigwaters tubes was almost too hot to touch. I have already upgaded my bios to the latest versions and my ram isnt bad i checked that as well (aperanty bad ram can caus any problem so i wanted to be safe :p ) I am running windows 7 ultimate x64 i have a Ga 990xa-ud3 motherboard i dont think the graphics cards or ram are relevant here but if requested i can give those specs too. I am at my wits end I am really hopeing that the cpu isnt just bad caus i cant currently afford another one Someone pleas help me solve this heating problem or give some advise on what i can do to identifie the caus.

My question would be how much thermal paste did you apply to the heat sink before attaching it to the CPU? I had this problem with my i7 930 idling between 38-42 C. It took three tries to get it to run cooler. In the end I ended up using half a tube of artic silver paste to keep the temp down.

If the water is hot, then you know its not the CPU itself that's causing the issue. The heat is being transfered into the loop, just somethings gone wrong with dispersing that heat.

Check if the fan on the radiator is spinning and if the water is actually flowing through the loop. If the fans broke, easy fix and throw a new one on. If the water isn't flowing, then it might be a variety of problems, but most likely the pump is broke/ not plugged in.
If you can rule out hardware failure, then its down to figuring out why the heat isnt being dissipated. The Bigwater Plus has a bay mounted radiator, if its in the top 5.25" bay then its likely its starved for air or hot air is just building up around the rad and its just cycling that hot air back through.

thanks for the quick resposes guys my bigwater is mounted near the top of my case i will see if i can mount it lower or free up some space above it. the fan and pump are both working (though the manual fan control isnt) I will try out these thing and let you guys know how it turns out
