Using wireless and LAN!?

Hi all,
My girlfriend has recently banished my office from downstairs right next to my router, to upstairs!
I had the netgear or belkins power plug adaptors (the things that allow you to run a LAN through the power grid in your home) they worked great in my last house but here they intermittently drop connection! So I decided to go wireless but this also drops randomly. I'm a online gamer and that just won't do so I was wondering if there was a way to combine both with a program? So that when one drops the other will take over the connection?

It seems windows wont cope with this task, as when both are plugged in I'm lucky to even get a connection at all!

If you could help It would be most appreciated!! Cheers

Try it: Connect one of the network devices, then open a MMO. Once you're connected to the game, connect the second network device. Next, disable or unplug the first network device, and make sure the second device remains connected. If you get kicked off your MMO, then it won't work. If the game persists (you might see a big network lag as it switches over), then you can be sure that you can use one as a failover.

If it doesn't work, you may need specialized software or hardware to make it work and that is probably more expensive than simply purchasing a better router, modem, or running a LAN cable to the room.

tested it to work for me using my lan and usb wireless adaptor and mobile phone at the same time

was onto this software right from the kickstart to fund it

should be a free trial available

yeah sure you could get of on mitigating circumstances

any jury worth its salt would know disconnecting you from your game is a reasonable cause

personally i ran a 30m ethernet cable from the router

bit of a pain but cheap and gives the fastest reliable connection

1. send us your girlfriend!
2. move your wireless router a bit or - if possible - try different antenna positions
3. change the channels used by the router
4. try a different power outlet downstairs and/or upstairs for the power lan adapters

Haha cheers guys I've just started my Connectify free trial ill report back if its good enough to keep up with heroes f new earth without any Dc's! If not I think it's goin to have to be a LAN cable! And sod what the missed says about the cable! Haha

good luck if you need to run a lan cable

as in DOES YOUR COMPUTER REALLY NEED ALL THOSE WIRES? !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
