You don't need 16GB of RAM. The most games need right now is about 5GB so getting 8 GB is the sweet spot. Anymore than that, you'll just be wasting money. You'll only need that much RAM if you are doing video editing.

I do agree with Josh. An SSD is the best way to improve performance particularly load times in games. Samsung, Crucial, and OCZ are the brands to look at.

Edit: I would also recommend getting a Corsair, XFX, or Seasonic PSU over Apex. Never cheap out on a PSU.

It's worth it.

By the way, you really, really should upgrade to a 7870 XT if you're going to be gaming - the XT chip is actually a disabled 7950, which means you're getting HUGE performance gains for not much more money.

Don't go with an SSD first, it's just the cherry on the cake. First upgrade your CPU to maybe a 8350 if you can afford it, you probably won't ever need 16gb of RAM if you're gaming, 8gb is enough for any game but RAM is somewhat cheap so owel

Then I suggest you buy a more powerful CPU because the 6300 won't be able to do all that simultaneously.

The 6300 is a very capable CPU that is able to do any demanding task. From gaming to video editing. What I suggest is that you get a CPU cooler and overclock that chip. It will yield some impressive performance gains.
