Hi I seen this picture and I'm curious. I believe this is both EVGA GTX 580 but the one at the buttom got tubes on it (I dont know what its called So I just call it tube) now whats the difference between the one with the tube and the one without? because I'm looking for a EVGA GTX 580 with backplate with that kind of tubes. (I dont know what are those tubes but I like how it looks :) ) what are those tubes anyways? I dont know. Why is that other GPU specially the latest dont have tubes anymore? I got GTX 260 and it has a tube too. I'm still learning I just want to know this thing ig you guys dont mind. Thanks in advance I hope you guys can Help me..

THIS IS THE PICTURE

Those are heatpipes that have water in them that helps to wisk heat away from the GPU. The heatpipes rest against the GPU and when it heats the water, the water turns to vapor, which rises, and then takes the heat with it to the cooler exposed part of the heatpipe. Then the vapor cools down, condenses back to water, drips back down to the GPU, and the process starts again to keep temperatures in check.

The one on the bottom with the exposed heatpipes looks like a GTX 480, not a GTX 580, which is shown on the top. The 580 switched from heatpipes to a vapor chamber cooling design with no heatpipes. The vapor chamber is more efficient, quieter, and cooler.
