I am building a new pc. I'm pretty sure about all my components needing some help with picking a video card. Should I go for a dual graphics compatible card or can I just swing for a better card don't want to spend a whole lot though I'll be playing on a 50 inch plasma 720p. I would like to at least be playing on medium to high settings on most titles. Any advice would be helpful. If some of my components could be swapped I'm a little open. Anything helps. Thanks.

I was looking for help with a video card. I don't know how completely changing my build is going to help me. I appreciate the effort but I need some more specific help.

Hi, because that case and psu is, excuse my french, crap.
Also if you're going to add a card, tell what's the total budget for it, i would change the pentium if you can more money for the i3 or FX amd cpus.
As of it now, that pentium G860 plus 650 gtx is far better for gaming than the apu for the same price and with a quality psu ;)

I've changed up my build a bit I've already purchased the motherboard so I'm locked into the amd trinity series I'm trying to find a nice low profile case to accommodate the graphics card. Hopefully one that will take an atx psu. I don't want to spend over 70 but I'd like to be around the 50 to 60 dollar range.

So you already purchased the motherboard ? :(
That cpu is rather weak for gaming, what percentage of the usage this is going to be for ?
% for htpc, % for gaming ?

For a cheap psu, you can't go wrong with the antec vp-450, much better than those junk psus around the same price, it can actually deliver the full power ;)

Probably 75% media, 25% gaming. I was reading that most games don't utilize the extra cores. I figured going with a discreet card if I saved $80 on the CPU I could put that elsewhere in the system. What are your thoughts?

Well, in this case, it will be better getting an amd FM2 quad core apu.

That really depends on which games you're looking to play. For media uses, any AMD APU should be able to play DVD / Bluray. For gaming use, get a higher end, either A8 or A10. For discrete card, the 7750 can't let you down at 720p. The 650 suggested earlier is also totally capable. Since the APUs all have GPUs inside, what do you think of not getting a GPU at all (since your only going to be using it for gaming 25% of the time). If it isn't enough, order a GPU.

Next time, instead of jacking a thread, try sending me a personal message. All of the people here are intelligent, don't be afraid to just depend on them. Properbuilds is right on top of things, clearly he has the same idea as me with forgoing a dGPU and getting an A10. Listen to him/her.

I've been looking at the silver stone case it'll look good in my entertainment center. But I was nervous about being limited to a low profile card. I can always get the a10 but that will mean I'll have to wait to upgrade to a video card later on. Will the a10 be enough and is it worth grabbing.

Hi, you can still add a 7750, there's some that are low profile, but yes, you'll be restricted in terms of gfx cards, but if this is for mainly htpc, the A10-5800k will do the trick, you can still play some games, even the recent ones at low/mid settings and depending at what resolution, if it's @720p, it can do well in most games with lowered details ;)

Appreciate the help guys Im gonna check some more benchmarks on the apps and the 7750 before I make a concrete decision.

I just bought a 660 gtx. So ive got the card and the motherboard. I'm thinking I'll stick with the a4 now but I'm not sure. I'm really looking to get a small case to fit in my media center. Any more suggestions?

Hi, that cpu will bottleneck the 660 gtx, why did you bought the 660 gtx in such budget and when your gaming needs are low?
I recommend getting a quad core apu, since you have the mobo, this one -> http://pcpartpicker.com/part/amd-cpu-ad560kwohjbox

Now you need a matx case, for that card, so this is what you would need :

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU: AMD A8-5600K 3.6GHz Quad-Core Processor ($108.78 @ Outlet PC)
Memory: Patriot Viper 3 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory ($47.98 @ Amazon)
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Green 1.5TB 3.5" 5400RPM Internal Hard Drive ($54.99 @ Newegg)
Case: Silverstone PS08B (Black) MicroATX Mid Tower Case ($34.90 @ Amazon)
Power Supply: Antec 450W ATX12V Power Supply ($37.33 @ Amazon)
Total: $283.98
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)

The htpc cases that i know that would fit that card are rather expensive.
