I have a Windows 7 Home Basic Machine and I will be Upgrading the RAM but considering Home Basics capacity is only up to 8gb( wich Iam now) when I upgrade it to 16 I will upgrade to windows Home Premium.

I dont really want to do a fresh install considering its tiring to install the programs and ive lost alot of the discs.

Will the DVD key at the back work with windows anytime upgrade?

P.S I will not only be upgrading the RAM

THANKS!!!!

Since you are paying for the upgrade - Not a freebee, most likely ou will ge a New key.

What I HIGHLY recommend is that once you have completeded the Upgrad, add verified all is good. then go to the control panel, select backup then:
On the left pane, slect create a system image. This should be written to a 2nd HDD. If you have 2 HDDs installed it would normally be placed on 2nd HDD. You can also direct it to an external HDD. I always copy this image to a diferent HDD as a backup.
.. Once the Image is completed you will be prompted to create a "Bootable Repair DVD.

Should you ever need to redo Installation, it can be done very simply by inserting the repair DVD, select Repair then repair using an image file. Once this image has...

THIS SURE BEATS reloading windows, windows updates, drivers and programs. In our case should you need to re-install, you would first have to re-install Basic + Drivers + programs, then do the upgrde install again - OUCH.

Will the repair DVD include the programs??

The repair DVD ONLY contains a program to copy the image back on to a SSD/HDD. The image is what contains all OS/Drivers/Programs. The cavet is that only Windows updates, driver updates and programs that where installed when you made the Image will be included. So if you install a program AFTER the image was made you would ONLY have to re-install that program, NOT ALL programs.
