7970, Help find a perfect monitor.

I honestly have no idea on what to look for in monitors, i know that refresh rates are important but don't know good refresh rates. As well as high resolutions.

Note: I am a HEAVY gamer.

Can anyone recommend or link some monitors for me?

I am going to be running off 2x Radeon 7970 Ghz Editions.
Right now the monitors I have:

Note: i just want to replace my Gateway monitor.

Well, I suggest you get a 120 Hz monitor. I recently got the Benq XL2411T for around 300€ after reading some reviews (with calibrated settings and such), thats around your budget. I believe it will be cheaper in the states.

I would suggest either an IPS 1440P monitor, or a 120Hz TN panel monitor. A 120Hz monitor will be smoother in games, but the TN panel doesn't look as nice. A 1440P monitor can be easily driven with 7970s in X-Fire, and will allow for a much better picture (since you have a higher resolution and IPS panels have much better colour reproduction). You won't, however, get a 120Hz refresh rate, and so games may not look as smooth.
Smooth gameplay or a beautiful picture? Up to you.
