Hi, I am a new member here but have visited the site a few times for help. Now I thought i would ask for some help myself.
I have a HP ProBook 4530s running Windows 8 with a fingerprint scanner. I often do site visits and I often leave my laptop unattended at sites whilst playing around with routers and their equipment. I always hit "Win" + "L" to lock my laptop before I leave it.
I have gotten used the the Windows 8 Lock Screen now, and have customized it with my business branding and I think it looks quite smart. Unfortunately in Windows 8 when you hit "Win" + "L" in Windows 8, it doesn't go straight to the lock screen, it pauses on and unsightly User login page that asks for me to enter my password or scan my finger for 30 seconds, then switches to the fancy Lock Screen. Seeing as this is a timed process, I figure that there must be a way to change the timeout. I have had a dig through local policies and the registry and even google
and so far I have come up dry.
Just to clarify (as this is all I can find online) I am not looking to make the computer lock itself after a certain amount of time, I can do that. I want to make the computer go straight to the fancy Lock Screen when I hit "win" + "L"
I hope someone can help, I know it seems picky... But I think it looks smart
