I ran malware bytes twice and it removed 2 viruses but everytime I use Internet explorer or chrome. The address line has search - conduit in it. I tried to change it to google. Com but it goes back to the search-conduit web page each time. The win 7 regedit fix doesn't work.
Fixed a few PCs today, users said they got search conduit after downloading software from CNET. So, apparently, CNET is offering this conduit thing with Cnet's installer. Make sure to opt-out those "offers" when download software. And if you already installed it, see this:

You can follow the below steps for the removal
a) First check in Add/Remove programs from control panel and remove conduit and if you dont find then check out unknown or untrusted apps in the list and uninstall those.
b) Check in Configuration utility from Task Manager(Startup)and find the location of unknown files and remove it from exact location.
c) Reset all the browsers

I found a way to disable the conduit virus in windows 8 but it does not remove it First go to internet options go to programs tab and click on manage add ons Next go down the list provided and highlight the Conduit option. Next click on the disable button located in the right hand corner. This should disable conduit
