Computer wont let me run programs.

Hey, so I wrote a very detailed description of my issue a minute ago but my other computer was too slow to post it so I'm posting this from the computer that HAS the issue...don't know how I was able to do this but here goes.

Basically, whenever I start my computer up, I have about 2 minutes to open programs/applications etc until it all freezes. Once it freezes, I cant open anything new up, but I can still access and navigate whatever I had open. Currently I have minecraft, a few websites, and skype up.

I have never had this problem and usually I can solve these things on my own, but this one has me stumped. I had to go into safe mode to download a program to scan my computer for viruses and found a few that I removed. I can give you whatever specs you need, and I posted here because I am running on a windows 7 OS.

Boot again into safe mode, run antivirus full scan and also get malwarebytes and run a scan with that. If you had several viruses it may be that you need to do a fresh install to wipe it out. Also while in safe mode goto msconfig and disable all the unnecessary start up programs.

Well without the system specs it is a little difficult to tell. If you have a SSD then update the Firmware on it. If you have a HDD check it for errors. If your drive (whatever it may be is OK) then the SATA controller on the Motherboard may be playing up. This is more likely if your Board is a Gigabyte Board.
