yes you can go to your network setting on all said computers and have sharing enabled so you can pass you files from PC to PC. you can also get a nas or home server and use it to back up all your PC's and drives. I use one of each for redundancy to back-up. Personally i like that set up more. i have used a PC like your asking in the past but found my current step-up on a nas and home server to be the most reliable. haven't lost a file in 8 years now
