Hi,
I have Windows 7 Pro 64bit.
For a few months after every time I turn my PC on I have several USB controllers (all but the usb 3) unrecognised as well as my network card.

So my keyboard and mouse is pluged into the ubs 3 and once the pc is on, I need to go into device manager and right click and uninstall each device. Trying to update states it has the correct driver.
Once I have uninstalled all I goto actions and scan for hardware changes. Now it picks up all the devices and my pc works perfectly until the next restart and I have to do this all over again.

I have tried deleting the drivers from windows and have tried removing them from the registry but to no avail.

can someone help.

Regards
George

Hi :)

Its the USB 3 Hub... we have a similar problem on one of my shops machines which we CANNOT cure as only certain makes of 3 hubs do this...

Easy to prove as well.... REMOVE USB3 hub, REPLACE with USB 2 Hub, and you should find it all works perfectly again....

All the best Brett :)

Hi Brett,
Thanks for that but I am still back at square one.
I removed the PCI card for the USB 3 and my LAN work but all my USB 2.0 did not work so I could not connect any keyboard or mouse.
With the USB 3 I can atleast connect the keyboard and mouse and then go to device manager to uninstall and scann for new hardware.
Any suggestions in getting all my USB 2.0 working.
The comprise of the 4 built in and a PCI card (Which I tried taking out and no difference) and the card reader
Any help would be greatly appriciated.

Hi :)

You have checked that Legacy USB is turned ON in the bios and any other USB settings in there ?

All the best Brett :)
