this is what i have:

i5 3570k
16gb Kingston Hyper X Black
H80i
GTX 660 (will be getting a second soon)
Antec 620w HCG
Asus P8Z77-V
OCZ 120gb SSD
1 TB Caviar Black
2 TB Seagate 7200 rpm
Silverstone Grandia GD08
pretty much all noctua fans.
SteelSeries 6v2? i think keyboard and corsair k60? mouse.
24" Benq 5ms monitor
21" Dell monitor
(not really into 3 monitor gaming, too taxing)

i probably will get a new keyboard, i want a backlit.
any suggestions on a Mx brown back lit keyboard?

other than putting 660's in sli, what are some things i can do for an upgrade?

also if anyone can recommend a decent setup for racing games on a pc i would appreciate it, i dont know much about it but have really missed it on the pc.

i bought this a couple months ago and kinda just want to take it apart to put it back together again for the fun of it haha..

power supply is the antec 620w, 660's only have one pcie connection and my psu is capable of running it, theres just a 100% price hike for a fully modular. i have looked into the evga 700w and buying braided cables but im not sure if i trust evga for power supplies, any experience with them?

I dunno about EVGA

FSP is a decent supplier for them but dunno about the other two

I would stick with XFX, made by seasonic
The 750W modular is only $90 and the non-modular 850w is only $85

620W is fine for 2x 660's though, just saying

strictly speaking, that psu is capable of running your rig, even with SLI.

as per kb, you might want to skip on the backlit and get a normal mechanical ... most are around $90 - 120, wether backlit or not. if you play FPS games i suggest a tenkeyless, Leopold or Filco majestouch. (10kl is to have more space to move your mouse)

sheag, I'm interested in which Noctua fans you used, did you use all the 120mm slots and the 80mm slots?

I'm looking into this case (GD08) for my rig and want to ensure I have the best, most quiet fan setup

i cant remember exactly but all the fans i have are 4 or 5 total nf-f12's i have one or two nf-p12's, one nf-b9 and a couple cheapy 80mm fans. the 80 mm ones done spin up really and are the only exhaust other than the h80i in push pull which is also exhaust. the rest are inward facing. all fan slots are filled.
let me know if you have any other questions and i would be happy to say what i did. i am very happy with it. its been running under my tv for about 6 months now and i have never thought it needs to be quieter. there is a slight humm but any movie or music played on low volume levels easilly drowns it out. i did want to fill all the slots up because i have overclocked my 660 as well as my 3570k so i was looking for the best balance between airflow and low noise. not just what would be the quietest (just a rant on my setup)

Happy for the rant :) I also found the thread you posted pics on, helpful stuff, it would appear your are using this case for a similar build as myself. Nice neat mount of the rad too wd.

Did you end up getting the 2nd gtx660? And how easy did the first one fit in? (I'm looking at putting a sapphire vapor-x 7970 in there

i didnt get a secind in because the scaling just wasnt worht it, im going to wait till i cant use the 660 anymore and buy one big card, watever is out at that time.
and ya before i built my machine i was worried about the sizing and called silverstone and read everything. i was ready to use a grinder on the hdd caddy or whatever you call it on the gd08 to make my card fit but there was no need, it fit no problem. im about to add a sound card and i have room for 2 more hdd on top of my already 1 ssd and 2 3.5" hdd's

so i dont think it will be a problem, unless it is a super long reference card that is like 13" or something but im not sure if those exist. height wise it wasnt a probalem though and i have a tall card. the direct cu 2.

yup on my 3570k at 4.3 i dont go over 70 C. ya its in the living room, i have cables running through the wall to my bedroom where my monitors are so i dont hear it at all most of the time anyway. but i still wanted something in my living room that no one would think its a computer, let alone a water cooled decent size gaming rig. so ya it fits that purpose cause all you see is the front panel of the gd08, the rest is tucked away. what is your setup?

nice one

im going to set it up in the living room too hence the need for a case like this, I dont want something that will look out of place next to my amp etc. I'll have it hooked up to a 60in HDTV for HTPC use as well as for big screen couch gaming. I've got a 1440 monitor im going to have set up as well so the option is there to game next to the missus whilst she watches tv. Still investigating how best to mount that monitor.

my tv is connected as well and i have had a couple issues that i havent really fixed or tried to fix in hooking up the xbmc to the tv in a good way. i ended up just buying a minix and a measy and using that. honestly if i would have known what i do now i would have just had a dedicated gaming pc and a smaller dedicated htpc with ubuntu or something on it that boots directly into xbmc. ill send my pic in a pm cause i cant upload it here for some reason.

pretty grainy and messy. i cut a hole the size of a 120mm fan in the side of the cabinet towards the back and have my radiator exhausting into the cavity where my xbox is to keep the hot air from circulating. ya nice 1440 monitor, that ll be pretty good..

I have to use the foxtel (cable company) set top box anyway to be able to watch our cable tv (in oz) so the pc is mainly for gaming, movies etc and for music. I really want to keep the units minimalists so one system suits me here as the gaming rig needs to be in the living room, I've ebayed the consoles I owned and won't be getting the new gen versions, pc ftw! :)

If I remember to ill post up a pic when it's all setup (approx in July)
