Hi everyone,

I'm really hoping someone can help me please. I recently downloaded my copy of Assassin's Creed 3 from Uplay, the game downloaded fine but when it came to installing it I repeatedly got an error message. Unfortunately I can't remember what the message said exactly but it was something to do with "Sound Files". The error gave me the options to retry or ignore, I tried clicking retry a few times but the error persisted, so I chose ignore to complete the installation and see if this did anything. The game finished installing but as I expected it will not run, as every time I click start game it downloads an update, but the update installation fails giving an error message saying: "Error while patching file multi\sounddata\Pc\sounds_eng.pck. Incorrect source file".

I have looked around a few forums regarding this error but I couldn't find anything.
So can anyone please advise me on how I can fix this error, or any advice of what this error could mean.

Thank you for your time,
Regards

P.S. I have messaged Ubisoft tech support a few days ago but I've not got a reply as yet :-\

Hi rgd1101,

That is the exact message I'm geting: "Error while patching file multi\sounddata\Pc\sounds_eng.pck. Incorrect source file".

If you mean the error when first installing the game....... errrr that's gonna take a while lol, I have to re-download the game and my connection is currently undergoing maintenance so it's running slow, dial up slow :'(

Thank for your reply.
