we get the following message from Origin:
OPERATING SYSTEM UNSUPPORTED
YOU NEED TO UPGRADE TO A NEWER VERSION OF WINDOWS TO PLAT BATTLEFIELD 3 LIMITED EDITION

Battlefield 3 only supports Vista, Windows 7 and now 8.

If you are running XP it will not work.

Computer games aren't like consoles. You can't just buy them and play. You have to make sure that your computer can run it software wise and hardware wise. If you don't know how to look up your system specs, you can use http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri and it will tell you if your system is up to par.

Processor: Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz or Althon X2 2.7 GHz

Graphic card: DirectX 10 or 11 compatible Nvidia or AMD ATI card, ATI Radeon 3870 or higher, Nvidia GeForce 8800 GT or higher.
Graphics card memory: 512 MB
Sound card: DirectX compatibl sound card
Hard drive: 15 GB for disc version or 10 GB for digital version

Processor: Quad-core Intel or AMD CPU
RAM: 4GB
