XP is being a real **** at the moment, every time I open a folder it takes 30 seconds - 4 minutes before the windows is usable. It's not my pc, its XP!

I pin pointed the problem:

when opening a folder with a large file or more than 10 files it strugles to find / get the file info, I was wondering if I could disable this and how?

I want it to look like:

test1.exe

not:

test1.exe
published by test
512,890KB

as it takes forever to get the information together!!!

do you mean the name of the file says that? like right under an icon? Go into folder options and see if you can turn it off. Think you can get to it by searching for it in control panel (sorry haven't used xp in many years)

100% fixed:

select "icons" from "view"

click "tools" then "folder options" then "view" and lastly "apply to all folders"
