I'm putting together a new build and wonder if anyone else has run into the same (or similar) problem.
I'm trying to fit a Corsair h100i rad into a Thermaltake level 10 gts case.
Corsair says the Hi00i fits into cases able to take a 240mm rad, and the Thermaltake says it's able to take 240mm rads.
So no problem; or so you would think.
But no way; no how, do the holes line up.
I want to fit the H100i in push-pull so I need all the top 8 holes on the rad to line up with the holes in the case.
NO.
In fact, as there's a grid of holes over the top of the GTS you would think it almost impossible for the rad not to fit; regardless of whether it was a designated 'screw' hole or not. But is doesn't; the H00i (or the GTS) manages to miss EVERY SINGLE SCREW HOLE.
Ok, I can get two to line up, but honestly, no more; and that's not enough if you're fitting 4 fans.
I don't know who's more perverse: Thermaltake for just putting holes in just the wrong position for any 240mm rad but their own (they sent me a picture of the 2.0 Extreme fitted) or corsair for putting the holes in their rad just so the won't fit in any case but they're own (and judging from the forums, maybe not even then).
Don't thermaltake and corsair use other people's standard 240mm radiators anyway, and if so why don't they fit?
Or should I just forget it and drill holes wherever they need to be, or buy a different case (worst option, as I really like the GTS).
What do you think?
PS, and since I'm here... I'm going for a 'positive pressure' case, sealing everything but the filtered intake fans, of which there are many, and blowing everything out the top vent (top back exhaust is used for gpu vent & psu bottom mounted so doesn't count).
Good idea, or disaster?
PPS, there's a half of lager in it for the winning answer.
