I am a gamer and am putting together a new rig with the new AMD FX-8350 with the ASUS Crosshair V Formula-Z AM3+ mobo.
I already have a GTX 670. Would that do?if not please suggest a ood grphics card bout 250$.
And also please recommend ram(16gb) , a cooling case, a kick-ass cooler :p and a case for my rig.
just as a question, will i be able to install a macintosh operating system on this system or do i have to stick with windows? i would love to have both though.
Your rreplies are much appreciated .
Thanks :)

I don't really put together builds on Tom's because they're people that are way better at it than me, but what I can tell you is:

1. No, you won't be able to run OSX. It doesn't support AMD processors, and really only works with Intel processors and Gigabyte motherboards.
2. A 670 is an amazing card and way better than anything you'd be able to get for $250.
3. You don't really need 16 gb of ram, unless you are into editing/recording. 8gb will be just fine.
4. You didn't post a budget, but a Corsair H100i is an amazing pre-filled water cooler that will get you pretty high overclocks. If you want air, then I'd recommend a Noctua NH-D14 which is just as good and cheaper.
5. As for a case, that is totally up to you because they're so many different cases out there. I'd recommend a NZXT Phantom (full ATX). I really like the look of that case.

Hope this helps.

another question : will any graphics go on the ASUS Crosshair V Formula-Z AM3+ mobo or does its have limtations?
what other parts do i need to complete the build of my rig like power supply , extra fans, etc.
and is the fan which comes with the fx-8350 ,good enough for cooling or does it require a cooler like the corsair 100i?

Yes, any modern gpu from the past five years will work on your Mobo.

For the power supply, you will need a unit from a reputable brand, such as SeaSonic, XFX, Corsair, Antec, with a few others. I personally have an XFX. It should also be at least 80+ Bronze and it must have a single 12 V rail that will supply the power. As for the appropriate wattage. I'd get a 600w if you aren't thinking of going with more than one gpu. You'll need at least 750w for multiple GPU's.

As for the CPU cooler, I'd never go with the stock heatsink/fan because they are inefficient and often times really loud. I'd go with, at the least, a Cooler Master 212 EVO. I have one and I was able to overclock my 3570k to 4.4 Ghz. The level of cooling power you need totally depends on whether you are overclocking or not(and if you aren't with an 8350 and a Formula motherboard, then you are wasting money) and/or want your computer to be silent.

Case fans are not my strongest area of expertise, but I'd go with some Corsair AF120's and AF140's. They're two different kinds, high performance and silence, I'd go with the silent ones myself, but I've seen a lot of people use the high performance in their builds.

ALSO, what is your budget? I could be recommending things that are too expensive for you or you could be wasting your money on certain aspects (motherboard for instance) when it could be spent somewhere else to create a much more balanced build.

my budget is around 700$
ive set aside 400$ for my fx-8350 and asus sabertooth 990fx (i chose this as i wasnt in the mind of overclocking my fx)
the psu would be around a 100$ and i already have a gtx 670 so thts nt a problem.
do the case come with fans or do i have to purchase them all seperately?
and is it a concern that amd boards yet dont have pcie 3.0 ? becuase with my gpu i dont think i need the upgrade :)
how is the sabertooth overall? because im not going to overclock the cpu and i am only going to use it for gaming and maybe some programming.
then again please suggest additional components that would fit my budgett and balance out my computer :)

and one more thing please suggest a computer tower around 80-100$

thanks for all ur help.
