Looking for a well priced 650W PSU

In my previous thread, I had a loud grinding noise coming from my 4 year old High Power Plus 650W PSU that got worse the longer my PC was on. Anyway, I opened the PSU, and I found the fan was non standard and the 2 pin connector was held to the main wiring by a cable tie that I was afraid to cut in case the cables went everywhere. Sooo... long story short, I need to replace it. I have been looking around and my current choice is the XFX 650W XXX Edition. Any ideas for other possible PSUs I could get in the UK at ~£70, semi/modular and long cables being prefered? If needed I could accomadate moving down to a 600W but no further.
Specs are:
Phenom II X6 1075T
Gelid Tranquillo V2
HIS 7950 IceQ Boost
GA-870A-UD3
4gb 1333mhz
Crucial M4 64gb
2x 750gb in raid 0
Haf 912+
Any help appreciated

Thanks, but I have a few worries about how reliable XFX are, I've heard they have bad reliability. It still seems a good option though.

Hi - don't worry about XFX, one of the more reliable brands. The XXX650 review from top review site:

XFX is easily one of the most reliable companies for PSUs. They are extremely consistent in their PSUs being of top-quality and reliability because they are both designed and manufactured by Seasonic whom may be the best PSU company around.

Honestly, with XFX, you could step down to one of their 550W models such as the latest Proseries 550W and it could handle your system with no trouble at all unless you did very heavy CPU overclocking and very heavy graphics overclocking. Even then, it'd probably be plenty reliable, just running with a little less than maximum power efficiency.

Glad we could help! :benetton:

I really love this new smiley list lol. I can see all sorts of inappropriate uses for them for a few months until I get bored.
