A question about graphics memory

Hello

I bought a HP Envy 14-1050EA laptop a few months ago. I was attracted to the price and what I thought were good specifications in the graphics department. It seems I was wrong however, since the laptop struggles to run anything well, even games that are not immensely demanding, like Civilization V. Other games, like Call of Duty: World at War, are simply unplayable.

What bothers me is that on the website I bought it from, it was listed as having "up to 2714 MB total graphics memory". However, systemrequirementslab.com tells me I have zero megabytes of dedicated memory.

Am I just a little clueless or have I been mis-sold something?

It's because I believe that laptop isn't built for gaming, you need something like an alienware laptop to play games on, and you can't upgrade laptops either, forgive me if i'm wrong.

Yeah I wish I hadn't. I wish I could say the graphics are the only inadequacy but the laptop has a very temperamental wireless network adapter that sometimes refuses to pick up any networks at all.

Honestly I might just try to sell it on and learn my lessons, it's way past the time and outside the conditions to return it.
