Hello guys, riddle me this:

when i run prime95 i get errors on cores 5-8 saying "ERROR: ILLEGAL SUMOUT possible hardware failure" and CPUID HWMonitor says my core temp is 65C. im using the stock cooler and my cpu always gets hot: around 60C when playing Chivalry. my cpu fans peat around 5000rpm at this point and are very loud. I have 16gs of ram and asus m5a97 le r2.0.
Could someone please tell me what these errors mean and why my cpu gets so hot? my room temp is usually 75F (23C?)
Also, on CPUID HWMonitor, the cpu temp under temperatures is always very high (idle 45C) however further down under "AMD FX-8350" the temp is more reasonable (25C idle and the 65C prime95). why are these different?
any help would be greatly appreciated

thanks

hi,
60c is normal for amd8350, i believe you have overclocked or under voltaged memory try set to 1333 and test again.
also disable cpu overclock if you have done any
report back results.

I havnt changed any voltages or anything like that for any part of my system :/ was afraid to seeing how hot everything was already. I don't think I've enabled the CPU overclock either but maybe. Whould the option be on the bios ?
Thanks for your reply

first try to set NorthBridge and Hyper transport Link frequency to 2000mhz in bios and prime it.

Before trying to play with voltage i suggest you to update your motherboards bios. its safer
