Is it confirmed that Steamroller in 2014 will use socket am3+?...any link or where the info is taken?...

I'm planning to build rig using Croshair V formula with a cheap Proc like Athlon II so it wont go to waste when I upgrade to Steamroller..

AMD officially stated they are committed to socket AM3+ until 2015. Since Kaveri is AMD's next evolutionary APU in 2014, it will be socket FM2 or FM3. The only other consumer desktop processor is Steamroller. Therefore, it can be inferred that Steamroller will be socket AM3+. Since Steamroller is refinement of PileDriver (meaning it is a 3rd gen Bulldozer) it is likely to be socket AM3+.

Excavator represents a new architecture design and if AMD is to abandon socket AM3+, then they will do so with Excavator.

Nothing official. Although from what I know I think Steamroller isn't coming out and they'll just release Excavator. Hard to say. But it doesn't matter, if you want to upgrade, upgrade, if you don't, don't. I wouldn't wait around for it.

Steamroller is definitely coming out and at the end of this year for FM2 in the Kaveri APU's. That has been confirmed by AMD. As for desktop parts...there is little information about that, though AMD did indeed say that Vishera is not going to be the last chip to use AM3+...so...one can speculate that there will indeed be an AM3+ steamroller chip, but maybe something else, no one really knows yet.

+1 Steamroller is the next product after Piledriver, and AMD has confirmed the next line will use AM3+...though we don't know what's coming with excavator, that will likely be well into the end of 2014 at the earliest and likely may even fall in 2015.

I don't think anythings going to happen if AMD doesn't catch up with Intel soon. The reason being is that AMD has a good chance of their 28nm architecture to be as good as Intel's 22nm v which will leave room for a nice improvement if they decide to upgrade their FAB. Even if they don't upgrade, if Intel uses that new material then they are liable to be sued for monopoly by AMD, or worse them having to split up their company. Either way AMD doesn't seem to be in the worst conditions, yet.
