I was having problems with low frames when i installed my 2nd 680. It seems i fixed this with help from people on forums. I did a clean install of the drivers and everything was going fine. Now when i try to play a game the computer crashes and restarts. My computer did start crashing before i reinstalled the drivers but it seemed to calm down after the fresh install. It was fine with 1 680 and I never had any of these problems but now that I am using SLI I am having all these issues. Even when I have both cards in and SLI disabled it still crashes. All the games i play are bought from either steam or origin, an my resolution is 1920 x 1080. Does anyone have a idea what could cause this. This is my build.

Asus Sabertooth z77 motherboard
I7 3770K IVY Bridge
32gb RAM Corsair Vengeance
2x Geforce gtx 680
ADATA 256 SSD
3TB WD Hard Drive
Corsair H100i Cooling Kit
Cooler Master Silent Pro 80 Gold 1200W

My initial thought is the PSU, but it is a single-rail so unless it's a bad PSU, you should have no issues. I then noticed that you are water-cooling your system, which tends to reduce the amount of airflow to your motherboard components. That motherboard has a cover on it - do you use the cover? I wonder if the additional bandwidth of the second 680 is raising the temperature of your PCI-E controller and it's not getting cooled enough, and is overheating. But that may be a long-shot. Just thinking out loud here. Have you tried switching the GPUs around? Or tried playing games on the new 680 only? Could be an issue with the card.

I did try moving them around with the new 680 in the first slot and vice versa then i turned SLI off and it was still doing it. I don't believe I tried taking one card out and playing with only one. Ive tried so many different ways that its all blending lol. I was just playing Crysis 3 with everything except AA on ultra. It didn't crash yet but I recorded the temps and voltages with EVGA Precision X. GPU1 Highest Temp: 77c GPU Clock: 1071 Voltage: 1162 GPU2 Highest Temp: 76c GPU Clock: 1084 Voltage 1162 The weird thing is on some other games that the computer crashed on It wasn't a high graphics game. But I still didn't crash yet and If it does it again I have a few options that i was told. Play the game with 1 card, try the old card and the new one to see if it still crashes. Then if that doesn't work take out half of my RAM load. What do you guys think?

Ok so I was just playing a game and my computer crashed and restarted. Its the same crash, no errors pop up on the screen just a restart. I removed half of my RAM and going to keep playing and see if it fixes my problem.

Ok so I was running each game, 1 card at a time and it was working fine. So I put both the cards back in and unplugged and plugged back in all the wires. It hasn't been doing it since that. Im thinking that it was a wire not in all the way. So If it happens again Ill keep everyone updated.

Diirus, I found your post because I was looking for a solution to what sounds like the same problem. The only thing we have in common is the ADATA 256 SSD, and it's the only component that's changed and could be causing the BSOD's imo. I have a couple more tests to try, so I'll update if I learn anything. Did your solution stick?

Here's my setup:
Coolmax 1200W ATX Power supply
Creative Labs Sound Blaster Zx soundcard
ADATA 256GB (SSD)
XFX Radeon HD 7870 2GB 256-bit GDDR5
i5-2500k CPU @ 3.4GHz
ASRock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3 Motherboard
running Windows 7 Pro x64
