RAM memory problem

have 256MB SDRAM. Can I update to 512MB or 1G?

Figure out what your motherboard make/model is, look online for a manual, and that should tell you how much RAM you can install.

I assume you are asking about a computer motherboard...

Just get some SDRAM and install it if its 133MHz it will most likely work, however the biggest SDRAM sticks i could find are 512MB if you can find two and im assuming you have 2 slots, your sitting pretty, its no more complicated than that, no manual needed... PROVIDED your RAM is actually SDRAM and not DDR witch is fairly easy to tell the differance.

I must also note that ive seen alot of machines that say the support x-amount of RAM and ive installed way more without issue, for example i had IBM desktop that said it supported no more than 8GB..... i installed 16GB...
