I want to change out my ADATA memory with Corsiar Dominator Platinum

Greetings -

I bought a gaming system and it came with

ADATA Premier Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model AD3U1333W8G9-2

(nothing is wrong with it is work fine, however there is no heatsink on them)

I want to upgrade to

CORSAIR Dominator Platinum 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMD16GX3M2A1600C9

both have timings of 9-9-9-24

Motherboard says it will work if I have a ivy bridge 22nm, which I do I have a Intel Gen3 3770

So should I go for it or is the performance gain going to be a wash and just a cosmetic upgrade to say the least?

heatsinks are worthless. the speed difference is irrelevant. the timings most importantly, are the same. no need to change your ram.
  2. agreed....your ram isn't going to affect your system performance, what you have is good, you know what they say , if it ain't broke.
