GPU Usage Going Mad!

My gpu usage is at 90% just after booting
Even when web browsing with no games open, its at 94%.
Its a radeon 7950
I installed new drivers which didnt help
Help is appreciated

if you have gone into safe mode and used device manager to uninstall the video cards (and made sure to click the delete driver box when you did)...then my next bet is some type of mal-ware....while rare some can use your GPU...usually in the form of a bogus flash update. so try running spy bot search and destroy as well as your anti virus to ensure you haven't acquired something nasty.

Doesn't work.. still at 96% even after SpyBot found 26 threats and cleaned them.
Now at 0% again, thanks alot!

whats your CPU usage at and do you see any odd processes you don't recognize on task manager? new virus/mal-ware don't always show up right away. shy of doing a complete format and re-install of windows, i don't know what else other then a defective card or PSU, that it could be.

What you suggested before worked, I uninstalled programs that showed up in SpyBot, now back to 0%.
